Following up on its 3-1 win in the first leg last weekend, JP Voltes won 12-1 on aggregate that sent it to Division 1 play while relegating Socceroo to Division 2.

Towed by five goals from Chichiro Noda, JP Voltes, one of the founding members of the UFL which has spent its league existence so far playing in Division 2, dominated the match right from the get-go.

Dominic Del Rosario started the romp by scoring in the 17th minute off an interception.

Mr. Noda then padded their lead with consecutive goals in the 34th and 45th minute to help his team to a 3-0 cushion going into the half.

The juggernaut continued for JP Voltes in the second half, lording over Socceroo with Mr. Del Rosario starting the scoring anew in the 49th minute.

Teammate John Celiz joined in the scoring fray with a counter of his own in the 57th minute for a commanding 5-0 lead.

Mr. Noda, who was later named man of the match, added two goals in the 61st, that clinched a hat trick for him, and 69th minute, then seconded by Mr. Del Rosario three minutes later for his third goal of the night.

JP Voltes’ impressive promotion-clinching win was capped by a fifth point from Mr. Noda in the 83rd minute.

With the win, JP Voltes joins Division 2 champion Laos FC in top league promotion next season.

Two slots opened for promotion after Philippine Army FC was disqualified from Division 1 play. Army is disqualified from any UFL tournament, the league announced.

Socceroo finished last in the recently concluded League play which was won by Ceres-La Salle FC.

Meanwhile, the knockout stage of the UFL Cup kicks off today at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

A single-elimination tournament, the UFL Cup runs alongside League play and involves teams from the two divisions of the UFL and guest teams who are divided into four groups of five clubs.
