Ford Ranger posts record sales in Asia Pacific

Posted on August 02, 2017

FORD Philippines in a statement said the Ford Ranger has logged “record sales for the first half of 2017” with deliveries of 63,525 units across markets in Asia Pacific. The result translates to a 21% hike when compared against the same period in 2016.

Ford cited the “strong sales performance” of the Ranger in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam as key to the rise.

“Demand for Ford Ranger continues to rise as consumer needs evolve towards a versatile vehicle that can be used for both work and play,” said Mark Ovenden, vice-president for marketing, sales and service at Ford Asia Pacific.

Among the markets, Ford said Australia leads in sales (21,638 units), followed by Thailand (20,230 units) and New Zealand (4,980 units). In the Philippines, deliveries reached 4,596 units, a 16% increase over 2016’s comparable period and a 25% share of the domestic pickup market.

This makes the Ranger as the second best-selling truck in the Philippines, Ford said.
