STA. LUCIA LAND, Inc. said it opened a fourth mall in Il Centro, a shopping complex located in Sta. Lucia City.

The two-level building, which is connected by a bridge to the three previous malls, has a gross floor area of 50,000 square meters (sq.m.), bringing the gross floor area of the complex to 230,000 sq.m.

“Negotiations with the mall tenants are still ongoing,” Sta. Lucia Vice-President for Corporate Planning Jeremiah T. Pampolina said in a phone interview.

Sta. Lucia City is a residential and commercial complex in eastern Metro Manila, serving the cities of Pasig, Marikina, Antipolo and the municipality of Cainta. Its residential component is the five-tower Sta. Lucia Residenze.

The first tower, called Monte Carlo, is nearing completion while construction has begun on the second, Santorini. Both are 21 stories high and billed as resort-type projects.

Sta. Lucia’s first-half net income more than doubled to P307.09 million from P120.51 million a year earlier, while revenue rose to P956.94 million from P561.5 million. -- Daphne J. Magturo
