AirAsia to add Manila-Iloilo flights in Sept.

Posted on August 05, 2017

AIRASIA Philippines said it will start operating three flights daily between Manila and Iloilo by next month.

“The addition of Manila -- Iloilo route will further expand our domestic footprint in the Visayas region following our expansions in Cebu via the launch of international and domestic flights,” said AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador.

Home to many heritge buildings including Spanish-colonial churches, houses, and commercial and institutional buildings, Iloilo is also known for the noodle soup, La Paz Batchoy. Another tourist attraction is the city’s Dinagyang which is one of the country’s biggest religious and cultural festivals.

The airline is offering promo fares for as low as P999 until Aug. 27, for travel between Oct. 1 this year to Aug. 28, 2018.

For the new route, AirAsia will be using Airbus A320s which can accommodate up to 180 passengers.

The airline expanded its Cebu operations with the addition of direct flights to Taipei and Singapore last November, and domestic flights to Davao, Boracay, and Palawan introduced in April this year. -- Janina C. Lim
